Well, the summer of 2020 has been very strange indeed. Covid 19 hit the Hospitality industry particularly badly, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. So many couples that postponed their weddings have been transferred to 2021/2022 but not everyone has managed to get either the date or location that they wanted and they are now looking for new ideas. Maybe you planned on a wedding abroad but are now having to rethink that.
CONSIDER ANOTHER SEASON
Autumn and Winter weddings open up a whole new box of tricks that you can use to make your wedding memorable. Think about some of the amazing table settings and room decorations that can't really be used at a summer wedding. From soft and warm Autumn themes to sparkly and magical Christmas themes.
The wedding couple photographed under an old oak tree that has been there for generations and stood the test of time with an amazing sunset in the background. The romantic rising mist in the morning engulfing the love between two people as they stare into each others eyes is a photographers dream to photograph.
AUTUMN AND WINTER DINNER MENUS EXCITE YOUR GUESTS
Just because it's not a summer wedding doesn't mean you can't have summer food but it does mean you also have other options if you want them. In the cooler seasons people love warming and nourishing meals. Spiced Butternut Squash soup served in delicate china cups. A perfectly cooked rack of lamb proudly sitting on top of creamed mashed potato. We have worked with many caterer's, one in particular, Broken Yolk Catering is excellent at creating bespoke Wedding and Fine Dining menus.
DRINKS GET THE PARTY GOING
Don't forget the drinks. The possibilities are endless. Warm mulled wine or cider or a rum based cocktail's to warm your cockles. After dinner Irish Coffees add a touch of luxury to your menu.
Gin cocktails are just as tasty in winter as in summer.
Some of the most stunning wedding dresses I have seen are Autumn/Winter ones. Intricately designed capes cascading over the shoulders is something to behold. For those that don't want a veil a hooded cloak is sophistication personified. You can still get your shoulders out if you want to. There are no rules. It's your day after all.
WHERE TO HOLD THE WEDDING
You have mostly the same options open to you as a summer wedding. I don't suggest a beach wedding though. That could be risky. Barn's Marquee's, Tepee's, Hotels are all still open and waiting to welcome your guests.
As a mobile bar company we have provided bars to all types of venues including Barns, Village Halls and Church Halls. There really are some hidden gems out there. It's normally a cheaper option too, so you can splash out on the catering and decorations. Its always a good idea to speak to the venue where you are having the ceremony. They have all the local knowledge.
Marquee's are now very popular. Mainly because they are so adaptable and you truly can create anything. You are also more than welcome to get in contact with us here at The Rootless Pub and we will help you out.
A mobile bar doesn't mean that you or your guests have to comprise on quality, service or range though. If anything you get extra choice and can customise the bar to what you like. Your favourite draught on tap or that cocktail that you love. We can match your table wine to your chosen menu, just to make sure that meal is a perfect experience for you family and friends. If you have a wish we can make it come true.
